National Road 5 Final Section (Serei Sophon-Poipet) Achieves 29% Progress

Banteay Meanchey Province, February 2025 The final section of National Road 5 from Serei Sophon to Poipet, spanning 35.14 kilometers, has reached 29% completion as of early February 2025, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport spokesperson, Mr. Phon Rim.

This section is part of the larger project aimed at restoring and upgrading the quality of National Road 5. The entire project is expected to be completed by 2026.

The Ministry of Transport urges all users of National Road 5 (Serei Sophon-Poipet) to exercise caution while driving. Motorists are advised to maintain a manageable speed to ensure safety for themselves and other road users, as well as to minimize dust pollution affecting nearby residents.

The Ministry expresses gratitude to the local communities and traveling public for their understanding and patience during the ongoing construction and upgrade works on National Road 5.
